Rehearsal for Narrative Writing: Character Arc


The best stories tend to have dynamic characters, characters who change as a result of the conflict in the story.  When you write your story, make sure to write about a time when you changed in a significant way.

          1.  Draw an arc (like an upside-down letter u)
          2.  Write how you were at the beginning
          3.  Write how you were at the end (as a result of the conflict)
          4.  Think: is this change interesting and/or important?
